Hawk

Returning artist Zoe Hawk brings a new body of work this November, true to her signature style and the unique narrative quality her collectors know and appreciate so well. Hawk has exhibited widely to international renown, and her work has been featured in New American Paintings, Plastik Magazine, ArtMaze Mag (UK), among many other publications and collections. Her cast of characters, whether clad in colorful dresses, dark cloaks, or matching uniforms, bring various modes of feminine identity to scenes of adolescent interaction, set on stages of familiar, often institutional or conspicuously suburban environments with a note of the sinister. She says, “My work deals with the complex experience of girlhood, exploring adolescent anxiety, feminine identity, and belonging. These themes are tackled within scenes of play, group interactions, and discovery, often stylistically referencing children’s storybook illustrations.”
