Wuf
Thomas Wuf was born in rural Missouri, and having completed a Masters in Architecture at Kansas State University, now resides in Columbia. His current studio work takes a variety of physical forms including painting and mixed media sculpture, all united by a Modernist sensibility and economy of design. That is to say, Wuf finds clarity and beauty in an honesty of materials and informed simplicity of arrangement. Claiming as media the forms and substances of industry and architecture, he sculpts in such a way as to hint at former use and previous life as part of a larger whole, while those signals of human design actually serve as highly formal components in a precise and minimal composition.
