Farren
Suzy Farren was raised in the New Jersey countryside and in New York City, before moving to St. Louis in 1979. She spent her first career as a writer, retiring in 2013 as vice president-corporate communications from a large health system. By that time she’d begun exploring new forms of self-expression, leading her to fibers and mixed-media collage. In her debut with Sager Braudis Gallery, Farren brings a series born out of her intuitive, physical process in the studio. The fragments that appear among her fields of color and mark-making allude to memory, and a layering of various but harmonious textures and components creates a familiar yet ineffable sense of place.
