Kyle Patrick
Bader
New to the Sager Reeves Gallery roster of artists, Kyle Bader debuts work in the June Exhibit, which draws on his research at the University of Missouri and an artist residency in France following completion of his Master of Fine Arts degree. Bader fuses collage and printmaking by combining multiple images within larger compositions that skirt the edge of realism and representation. Highly aware of the Dadaist use of collage in the early 20th century to critique the social structures and political strategies that led to World War I, Bader ties his work to a technique with a long history of protest and resistance. The method itself is a manipulation of reality, repositioning photographed subject matter to draw attention to the moral indifference of a corrupt system.
