Love
Artist and writer Jeffrey Alan Love just published the illustrated novel, Notes from the Shadowed City, in fall of 2016. Of this ambitious work, the director and novelist Guillermo del Toro wrote, “Jeffrey Alan Love's fables combine stunning, museum-worthy graphics with foreboding, magical narrative. He can elicit dread, wonder, and ecstasy in equal measure." This sentiment can be equally applied to Love’s paintings, which present a cast of characters and imply a dark narrative with magical undertones. Ever-present is Love’s eye for balance and control of value and contrast, so that every composition serves as evidence of his mastery of design.
