Tete

Iren Tete is currently a Visiting Artist at the University of Florida in Gainesville, and holds an MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, and published by Friend of the Artist and Create! Magazine. She was featured Emerging Artist by Ceramics Monthly Magazine and as a finalist for the Hopper Prize in 2020, among many other honors and distinctions. Tete sees her work as visual poetry. Each element of every complex, multi-part sculpture acts as a stanza, essential to the understanding and experience of the entire work. Repeated elements, 3-dimensional mark-making, address visual and emotional notions of memory, time, and fragility.
