Ellen
Heck
Ellen Heck holds degrees from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Brown University and has exhibited across the United States and the United Kingdom. A returning artist at Sager Braudis Gallery, Heck brings a beautiful body of prints that continue her ongoing exploration of identity and the meaning of printmaking. Like books about readers and writers, these prints about printmakers are what they are about. They can be seen as self-portraits or portraits of a process. Carefully constructed compositions focus the viewer on thinking heads and working hands—the engines of the printmaker’s process.
