Kinsella
Edward Kinsella III was born in St. Louis. He graduated with honors from Ringling School of Art & Design in 2006, and his work has since been commissioned by a variety of magazines and publishers, and garnered 6 medals from the Society of Illustrators. Using portraiture as a framework, Kinsella explores themes of energy, liminal spaces, and the paranormal. Each piece in this series was created using layers of acrylic paint over a black colored pencil drawing, with paint applied in veiling layers to push back the grounding portrait element and to reveal a surrounding/enveloping energy.
