Dorian Agüero Anaya, born in 1989 in Las Tunas, Cuba, is a graduate of Las Tunas Academy of Plastic Arts and later the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, where he went on to join the visual arts faculty in Printmaking. With intense color work and a strong nod to Pop Art, the artist applies expressive figural treatment to his cast of cattle, subjects that represent human tendencies relating to herd mentality, dominance/subjugation, social expectation, and rebellion.
