Venzant
Domonique Venzant, a faculty member at Riverland Community College in Austin, Minnesota and Minnesota State, studied science before earning an MFA in Ceramics from the University of Missouri. Pottery, for Dom, has long been about community every bit as much as it is about objects. From his own first apprenticeship to his multiple roles as an educator, he has found in clay a manner of connecting - one generation to the next, an individual to the collective, and the potter to the environment his objects will serve or adorn. Each piece in his September Exhibit showing was created with a poetic eye for the effects of the touch, pressure, and skill of the artist’s hand, as well as a vision for its ultimate role in a domestic setting.
