Terry
Mason
After Terry Mason completed a BFA, he worked in various trades, from construction to metal fabrication to mold making, while also serving as studio assistant to several artists. With the sharpened skill set these experiences afforded, he went on to earn an MFA from the California College of the Arts. The artist has an ongoing preoccupation with life’s fleeting existence and the inescapable consequences of time. Influenced by the idea that awareness is in a constant state of flux and that things are often not what they appear to be, Mason alters the familiar with a constant eye for humor, surprising material combinations, preposterous conceptual juxtapositions, and craftsmanship.
