Leah Pollock is an MFA in Ceramics (University of Missouri), with a sculptural aesthetic influenced by her international travel and study, especially in Japan. Her informed style seamlessly blends this connection to traditional, Far Eastern methods and forms with her own personal expression of solitude, serenity, and clarity. Gentle but solid, asymmetrical yet balanced, and simultaneously light in form but materially heavy, Bowring’s newest vessels house the conceptual complexities of all that informs them. Ultimately, however, each can be simply perceived in its immediacy of beauty and inherent calm.
