Morrey

Sculptor Chris Morrey brings to the August Exhibit a series entitled, The Matter. The works of this series are investigations of interiors: the insides of bodies, cells, bubbles, tubes, each made from bronze using the ancient method of lost-wax casting. The artist considers the metaphor found in the physical boundaries and spaces of this work, saying, “life is defined by containment.” Chris Morrey was born on the Canadian plains and after time all over the Midwest and Intermountain regions of both his home countries, including years in Columbia, Missouri, now resides and works in Norman, Oklahoma. He holds an MFA from the University of MIssouri-Columbia. Chris has exhibited with Sager Braudis Gallery for many years.
