Janzen

Albert Janzen was born in 1989 in Siberia and grew up in Germany. After 13 years at the School of Music and Art he decided to pursue his path as an artist, simultaneously with the study of Philosophy and Mathematics in Berlin. He went on to London to study Logic and eventually completed a Masters of Logic at the University of Amsterdam, exploring Twombly-inspired, line-based artwork all the while. Janzen finds abstraction to be a form of liberation, and the line the most fundamental of visual structures. While the work is fully abstract, the artist is quite interested in the desire to find imagery within his compositions. His lines are like independent entities, taking on meaning when interpreted by each viewer.
