This month we are delighted to present a solo exhibition of work by Nora Othic, the beloved Missouri artist whose neoregionalist works elevate the ordinary details and characters of small-town and rural life into something iconic, humorous, and, for so many of her collectors, familiar. A graduate of the University of Missouri–Columbia, Othic has shown widely across the Midwest with solo exhibitions at institutions including the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art and the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art. Her richly detailed paintings depict prize animals, farm scenes, and landscapes with equal parts tenderness and wit, blending Benton-like bravura with a Pop-inspired reverence for everyday life, and an absolutely masterful ability to capture the texture and personality of each animal and scene.
